Education has undergone a significant transformation thanks to technological advances that enable unprecedented collaboration and access. The concept of global learning is no longer limited to traditional classrooms, but has developed into a learning environment that crosses geographic and cultural boundaries. Universities in this case can utilize technology to improve the quality of education.
Technology plays a central role in connecting students, faculty, and educational resources around the world. Primarily information and communication technology can bring great benefits in developing cross-cultural understanding, collaboration skills and a deep global perspective.

Improved Learning Experience
Online learning platforms are one of the most important aspects of providing inclusive learning. Platforms like Coursera, Ruangguru, and Cake have opened the doors for millions of people around the world to access courses without having to be physically present.
In addition, information and communication technology such as video conferencing has changed the way universities collaborate and communicate. Students and faculty can now participate in virtual seminars, workshops and conferences from anywhere in the world. Allows students to learn from leading experts without the need to travel physically and, of course, can reduce costs in all aspects.
Mobile applications and other e-learning platforms also contribute to supporting global learning in an effective way. Applications like Duolingo help students learn foreign languages by themselves. This makes it easier for students to adjust their respective learning intensity independently without depending on a particular teacher.
Even medical students need to get real medical learning experience. Virtual museum tours via augmented reality (AR) can provide real visualization for students to learn without having to deal directly with the human body. Enables increased portions of learning anywhere and anytime.
Challenges and Threats
Behind the convenience that technology offers in learning globally, there are several challenges and threats that can also arise. First, regarding the accessibility of technological infrastructure. Even today, there are still many areas that do not have easy access to technology. Instead of bringing about inclusivity, uneven technology can give rise to elitist phenomena.
An individual’s readiness to accept technology is also a consideration of whether technology will be a helper or a killer. Dependence on technology can actually give rise to laziness and derivative phenomena such as plagiarism. This certainly needs to be watched out for.
Overall, technology has opened the door to more inclusive, collaborative and globally oriented education. However, the use of technology must also be followed by the readiness of the user. This is to minimize the negative impacts that technology can cause.
