Airlangga Post Doctoral (APD) Fellowship for International Academics

Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), a research-leading University committed to providing a productive and rewarding academic environment in the City of Surabaya, Indonesia, by inviting promising doctorate graduates across the world to conduct research activities with our prominent professors and researchers under the Airlangga Post-Doctoral Fellowship (APD) program. APD is six-month program that consists of a three-month research period and three-month paper submission designed to provide opportunities for promising young researchers to incorporate their knowledge into the relevant fields and enrich their research experiences with Universitas Airlangga

  1. Foreign academics (Non – Indonesian citizen) from leading domestic and foreign universities/university institutions or Indonesian diaspora/academics affiliated with foreign universities;
  2. Possess a doctorate degree, with a maximum of seven years from the date of graduation (proven by the date of graduation on the diploma issued by the university / higher education institution); and
  3. Possess publications in reputable international journals

 

MANDATORY DOCUMENTS

The applicant should provide the following documents:

  • Application Form;
  • Scanned ID page of passport
  • Resume / Curriculum Vitae (includes publication list)
  • Proof of published articles in reputable international journals
  • Copy of legalized official doctorate diploma (Applicants who fail to provide their copy of official doctorate diploma will not be considered)
  • Summary of the Proposed Research (including the research timeline for the three-month program with UNAIR academics)
  • Motivation Letter
  • Relevant Correspondence with related Universitas Airlangga’s Faculty/Professor (if any)
  • Letter of Consent from UNAIR academics who wishes to be a research supervisor (if any). If you wish to obtain the letter of consent yourself, please kindly contact the faculty’s representative to find yourself a supervisor if you have not made any contact with any lecturers yet. You may find the faculty’s representative contacts on the “SUBMISSION PROCEDURE” tab section.

Followings are the additional requirement to complete for the previous grantee of APD Fellowship program who wishes to re-apply for the program:

  1. Proof of published paper/article at the internationally reputable journal along with its article from the last APD Fellowship program.
  2. Applicant’s obedience and discipline in the previous batch of Airlangga Post Doctoral Fellowship

OBLIGATIONS

May include (but are not limited to the following activities):

  • Supporting Universitas Airlangga in its effort to be a World-Class University in international ranking surveys such as THE (Times Higher Education) and QS World University Ranking.
  • Conducting research and publishing a quality paper that has to be submitted to a reputable international journal
  • Deliver minimum one academic lecture per month during the program.
  • Writing a publication supervised by a supervisor at UNAIR.
