  1. OnCampusAccommodation

AGE will provide assistance to best accommodate all international students. However, there is only a few rooms available and, thus, the priority will be given to students who apply on time (before the application deadline). Generally, the bathroom is outside of the room. You will have to share the bathrooms with other students. Unfortunately, there is also no laundry room in the dormitory buildings. Though, there is a laundry service. In addition, you will have to pay an additional fee if you bring any electronics such as laptop, rice cooker, fan, etc.

You will have to pay the deposit together with the dormitory fee to receive the room’s key. You will have your deposit back once you finish your study at Universitas Airlangga. The dorm fee and deposit are paid upon arrival to Universitas Airlangga. The payment is done in cash.

The check-out should take place a week prior to the departure date. Please remember to notify AGE International Services about your check out date one week before your departure. Only by doing this properly you will be able to receive your deposit on time. The deposit will be returned to the students two days before they leave.

Overnight Visitors

Students cannot have guests to sleepover at the dormitory. If you got caught having overnight visitors, you will have serious punishment. Your visitors might only visit you on the terrace of the dormitory.

You can reach him during Indonesia regular work hours (9:00 to 17:00). It would better for you to ask your Indonesian friend to talk to him.

  1. OffCampusAccommodation

If you do not intend to stay in the dormitory, AGE will provide assistance for you. In general, once you decide to live outside, you can either rent a room (called Kos) or rent a house and share the cost of it with other local/international students.

Off campus accommodation may vary in terms of facilities and prices. For many local students, an IDR 700.000/room is already suitable. Below is the range of price of Kos in Surabaya:

*For the electricity included mostly only for lamp and fan (you have to provide your own fan). If you consider bringing laptop / rice cooker you have to pay additional+ IDR 25.000 – 100.000

Surely, the quality of the room is better as the price goes higher. However, for international students to have a decent room the cost for renting a room ranges from IDR 1.000.000 – 2.000.000. You can definitely find a room for a cheaper price, but you might want to check the facilities properly.

Overnight Visitors

For the comfort and safety of all residents, guests are not permitted to stay overnight at the dormitory. If caught having overnight visitors, students will face serious consequences. Guests are welcome to visit but must remain on the dormitory terrace.

The Dormitory availability can be limited, particularly during the fall semester. To ensure that all international students have a comfortable and convenient place to stay, off-campus accommodation options are also available to host international students.
