AGE UNAIR – East Java is known as a province that has a wealth of interesting icons, one of which is the Kampung Inggris (English Village). This area is located in Pare District, Kediri Regency, East Java. As the name suggests, this village has thousands of English courses, starting from basic English courses, TOEFL, IELTS, grammar, speaking, and so on.

The founder of Kampung Inggris is Mr Kalend Osen, who initially founded the Basic English Course. Until now, this course institution is still established and accepts hundreds of new students every 3 months.

Kampung Inggris is very famous for several hidden gems in it, such as the following:

Cheap food prices

For just IDR 3,000, we can get a portion of delicious pecel rice. The location is opposite the Basic English Course institution. This stall is considered busy because the prices are cheap and the taste is delicious.

Non-English courses

Even though it is called Kampung English, not all institutions offer English language courses. There are also Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Mandarin, and so on courses.

Tansu Center

Tansu, or milk sticky rice, is an iconic food in the Kampung Inggris, which serves sticky rice mixed with milk. Not only that, there are also other additional toppings, such as cheese, chocolate, and others. The price is quite cheap, around Rp. 3000 rupiah.

Apart from that, Kampung Inggris has its own charm in terms of scenery. This village is like a small town bustling with people from all over Indonesia. Therefore, Kampung Inggris is also known as Indonesian City because many immigrants are from all regions of Indonesia.

Kampung Inggris has been known as an iconic and famous village. Visiting Kampung Inggris in the morning, afternoon or evening will let us know how this village has its own charm.
