Darmasiswa scholarship is a scholarship program offered by Indonesian government to the countries that have diplomacy relation with Indonesia. The aim of this program is introducing Indonesian language and culture to the young generation in all over the world. Moreover, this scholarship program strengthens the relationship and the understanding of the culture among the youth. Dharmasiswa scholarship holders are able to select one of 45 universities in some cities in Indonesia. This scholarship is organized by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affair of Indonesia.

Darmasiswa started from 1974 in which ASEAN became the pioneer of the program and they only accepted students from ASEAN countries. In 1976, this program expanded and invited more students from other countries such as Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Mexico, Holland, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and United States. Lately, there are 75 countries which take part in this scholarship program.
