DARMASISWA

Darmasiswa is a scholarship program offered by Indonesian government to the countries that have diplomacy relation with Indonesia. Currently, Universitas Airlangga is open for enrollment to learn Indonesian language through the DARMASISWA Scholarship Program, which funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The aim of this program is introducing Indonesian language and culture to the young generation in all over the world. Moreover, this scholarship program strengthens the relationship and the understanding of the culture among the youth. Universitas Airlangga will provide four levels of Indonesian language proficiency; A1, A2, B1, and B2. Before taking the course, participants will have a placement test to determine their proficiency level, ranging from beginner (A1, A2) and advanced (B1, B2). In addition, participants will not only gain learning experiences in classroom, but also engage in activities beyond the classroom and have cultural immersion trips with other foreign participants and academics in Universitas Airlangga.

  8. Flight itinerary confirmation : 9 June – 9 August 2024.
  9. Pre-Departure Briefing at Indonesian Embassy : August 2024.
  10. Basic Indonesian Language Course (Online) : 1 – 9 August 2024.
  11. Orientation program at Jakarta, Indonesia : 29 – 30 August 2024.
  12. Lecture Starts : Early of September 2024.
  1. Living allowance : IDR 4.700.000.
  2. Book allowance : IDR 2.000.000.
  3. Settlement allowance : IDR 4.700.000.
  4. Accommodation and local transportation during the Orientation Program.
  5. Legal stay permit (visa) from the Government of Indonesia.
  6. Assistance from host universities in finding a house/room of which the rent is included in the living allowance.
  7. Local health insurance.
  1. Foreign nationals.
  2. Completed secondary education or its equivalent.
  3. Minimum age 18 years, with a maximum age limit of 32 years (special for this year).
  4. Able to communicate in English (Proven by English Language Proficiency Certificate: TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS or OTHER CERTIFICATE if applicable).
  5. In good health as proven by a Medical Certificate.
  6. Have basic knowledge of the applied field.
  7. Have strong interest in learning the applied field.
  8. Not registered as Darmasiswa’s Alumni.
  9. Not registered as KNB’s Alumni.
  10. Not currently studying in Indonesia.
  11. Not currently working in Indonesia.

  2. Medical certificate (in English).
  3. Passport valid at least 18 months from the time of applying.
  4. Recommendation Letter from Education Institution/Professional Institution on official letterhead and signature (in English).
  5. Latest academic transcript and certificates (in English).
  6. English language proficiency certificate (if applicable).
  7. Certificates related to the applied field (if applicable).
  8. Photo passport (color).
  9. Essay about applicant’s purpose of study (in English or Bahasa Indonesia maximum 500 words).
  10. A full body video that shows the applicant explaining her/his motivation to join the program and what she/he will contribute as an ambassador of Indonesian culture after graduating (video must not exceed 2 minutes duration and can be in English or Bahasa Indonesia).
