Strategic Meeting of UNAIR and Semmelweis University, Hungary

AGE NEWS, Surabaya, Indonesia, May 27, 2024 – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) and Semmelweis University of Hungary held a pivotal meeting today to explore potential collaborations, particularly within their Faculty of Medicine. This strategic session focused on expanding academic and research partnerships between the two institutions. Key attendees included Mr. Bodis Gyula, Adviser to the Rector, and Ms. Rosyida, the representative of Semmelweis University in Indonesia. Representing UNAIR were Aprilia Putri Pradana, Head of Global Partnership and Promotion, Dr. Asra Al Fauzi, Faculty Ambassador for the Faculty of Medicine, and Sasmitha Anggraeni from Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE).

The Rector of Semmelweis University of Hungary plans to visit UNAIR scheduled for October or November 2024, will feature strategic meetings and guest lectures, aiming to enhance collaborative efforts in Cardiology, Radiology, Telemedicine, Biobank, and tropical disease research. Further discussions opened the door for broader engagement, potentially involving faculties of Dentistry, Pharmacy, Public Health, Veterinary, and Nursing including, but not limited to partnerships, promoting research collaboration, student and staff exchanges, and other joint initiatives.

Semmelweis University, located in Budapest, Hungary, is one of the oldest and most prestigious medical universities in Europe. It is renowned for its cutting-edge research, comprehensive medical education programs, and significant contributions to healthcare innovations. This meeting signifies a major step forward in strengthening the academic ties between Universitas Airlangga and Semmelweis University, paving the way for enriched educational and research opportunities.
